As a boutique hotel and members club, as well as home to bars, restaurants and multiple events spaces The Battery had a very unique set of design needs. I designed the monthly calendars, weekly event listings, daily menu updates. Each element abiding to strict brand guidelines and usage policies.

A purposeful departure from the strict brand guidelines of the hotel proper, we intended house magazine The Battery Candy to be a splash of colour and drama in a refined atmosphere.

 I worked with our brand director to dive into the building history as a confectioner’s to create the name and themes for The Battery Candy, before finding the correct tone that suggested a sophisticated clientele, who care for a range of topics from fashion and buying guides to philanthropic endeavours, women’s issues and arts events.
